You want to learn how to play Bridge for free?

The American Contract Bridge League has been kind enough to offer you the opportunity.

They have sponsored a program written by an eminent bridge player and it has been specially designed for easy downloading.

Here are a few comments on their free program from an average bridge player:-

Advantages

It does start teaching you almost from scratch.

It is very comprehensive, in spite of its size.

It does have a certain amount of interactivity (with sound!)

It occupies less than 1.44m and therefore downloads easily, quickly and can be saved on a 1.44m floppy disk.

IT IS FREE!

Disadvantages

(All these disadvantages stem from the fact that they have had to cram as much tuition as they could into 1.44m)

Progression from basics to quite sophisticated examples can be a bit rapid for the not-quite-so-intelligent of us.

For those of you who like to learn by "doing", there are not enough exercises to practise with.

We are just a bit worried that the speed of progress may put some potential players off. (However, you have been warned, so be prepared!)

It's pretty serious stuff!

Our Recommendation

We recommend that you download the program after you've made a note of ACBL's web site address, and after bookmarking our own home page.

Enjoy!
