No visit to BOTSWANA would be complete without a visit to the Okavango Delta. Nor the Moremi Game Reserve, one of Southern Africa’s premier game viewing destinations. This month we take you to a lodge which offers you the best of both worlds....

CAMP OKUTI is located at Xakanaxa on the edge of the Okavango Delta in Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve. Camp Okuti offers beautifully appointed brick and thatch chalet accommodation for 19 guests (7 twin and 1 family chalet sleeping 5 persons). Chalets have ensuite bathroom facilities and overhead fans. Game drives take the visitor throughout the Moremi peninsular, including the Third Bridge area. Full day boat trips visit the nearby lagoons and their famous henonries. Families welcome.

How you can visit CAMP OKUTI

DAY 1 Upon arrival in Maun guests will depart immediately for Xakanaxa, Moremi Game Reserve. where they wll met at the airstrip by a Camp Okuti representative and transferred the few kilometres back to camp. DAYS 2/3 Xakanaxa offers the best of both worlds - exploring the Okavango by power boat, and the surrounding land peninsular by 4WD safari vehicle. Fishing, birdwatching and viewing big game are all high priority here. DAY 4 For those who like to see the surrounding countryside, we transfer back to Maun by road, a journey of approximately 4 hours depending on game sitings enroute. Alternatively return to Maun by fixed wing aircraft. Either option will have you back in Maun in time to check-in for departing flights.	DAYS 1/2/3 Depart Maun for *Gunn’s Camp* in the Lower Delta. Gunn’s offers tented accommodation with private open air bathroom facilities ensuite, providing accommodation for a total of only 14 persons. Here on the Boro River in the Okavango Delta. Activities from the camp include walking on the surrounding islands, power boat excursions (flood levels permitting), fishing and trips to nearby Chief's Island by mokoro - the traditional dugout canoe. DAYS 4 /5/6 Transfer by fixed-wing "air taxi" from Gunn’s Camp to Xakanaxa where you will spend the next 3 nights at Camp Okuti DAY 7 Fly or transfer by air to Maun in time for your departure flight.	DAYS 1/2 Depart Maun for Camp Okuti in the Moremi Game Reserve where you will stay for 2 nights. DAYS 3/4 Fly from Xakanaxa to Savuti in the southern part of the Chobe National Park. Spend 2 nights in tented accommodation at Lloyds Camp. This dry acacia savannah area of the Chobe is well known for it’s elephant, lion and hyena. DAYS 5/6 Fly further north into the town of Kasane. You will spend 2 nights at Kubu Lodge in delightful timeber and thatch chalets set on stilts in beautiful gardens sweeping down to the Chobe River. Explore the Chobe by power boat and 4WD safari vehicles and by "fin-foot" boat to the nearby confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. DAY 7 Depart from Kasane airport.
