Okavango Delta An unique wetland covering 13000 square kilometres of Botswanas north western region. The annual flooding of the Okavango is regulated by rainfall experienced in the southern highlands of Angola. The Okavango is protected as part of the Moremi Game Reserve and other game management areas, accessible only in some parts to visitors. Moremi Game ReserveWonderfully rich in both wildlife and aesthetic appeal, Moremi covers some 3000 square kilometres. Easily accessible to visitors in all budget levels, by air or by sand road, National Parks campsites, luxurious lodges and excellent gameviewing cater for all tastes. Chobe National Park At the far north of Botswana the Chobe is probably most noted for its huge populations of elephant. These are readily encountered on game drives along the riverine forest area of the Chobe River, or on boat cruises from the town of Kasane. Rich in other big and small game and bird species, the Chobe is a must for any visitor to Botswana. Central Kalahari Game Reserve A remote wilderness covering 52000 square kilometres in the central region of Botswana. This Game Reserve is best visited after the annual rains when vegetation, game and birdlife are abundant. Several scheduled safaris visit this area during this time (April to June). |
